It’s important to know your professional photographer is dedicated to excellence, and committed to learning. Membership and Professional Affiliations are one measure of this commitment.

When you choose a photographer, you want to know that you’ve chosen someone who cares. Betsy’s Photography is dedicated to being the best, and these organizations are there to support us as we increase our creativity, technical understanding, and advancement of the photographic arts.

Betsy’s Photography - Our Affiliations

Betsy is a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP), a designation she received in 2006. Additionally, she is a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Professional Photographers of Michigan (PPM), Detroit Professional Photographers Association (DPPA), Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), and the Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce.

Being a part of these affiliations helps photographers achieve higher standards of excellence in the artistic profession of photography. All of the organizations encourage photographers to attend continuing education classes & seminars. In addition, the CPP designation requires recertification every five years.

In addition to our photographic affiliations, Betsy’s Photography is a member of the Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce. We know it’s important to give back to the community and support local businesses — and of course, residents of the community.

Professional Photographers of America

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is a worldwide association that exists to assist its over 18,000 members in achieving their professional, artistic, and fraternal goals; promote public awareness of the profession; and to advance the making of images in all of its disciplines as an art, a science and a visual recorder of history. PPA offers many valuable programs and continuing education courses for its members, and holds an annual International Print Competition, which is highly esteemed throughout the photographic community.

Professional Photographers of Michigan

Professional Photographers of Michigan (PPM) is an association of sharing and dedicated professionals whose passion is professional photography. PPM provides professional photographers located in Michigan with many valuable programs, seminars, conventions, and annual print competitions.

Detroit Professional Photographers Association

Detroit Professional Photographers Association (DPPA) is a local affiliate group that, like its state and national counterparts, also offers an annual print competition and other opportunities for professional photographers within the community.

Wedding & Portrait Photographers International

Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) is an international group that provides professional photographers education and networking opportunities, as well as offering print competitions for its members.

Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce

The Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce is organized to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Dexter area so that all of its citizens and all areas of its business community can prosper. The Chamber of Commerce puts on events for the community throughout the year, including Dexter Daze, Apple Daze, and an annual Ice Cream Social (among other events).
