Finalizing the Landscape Project…
Well, our landscape project has wrapped up nicely over the past week. Since things are basically finished, aside from watching grass grow, I thought it was time for one last image-laden post, to show everything that has been done this week.
They brought in a little more dirt, ironically, while we were putting up our new mailbox (the old post was severely cracked somehow since we moved in and installed it:

Now for a little “construction” tour. The boulder retaining wall was finished at the end of the week, and looks very nice. Plus, it will be good for keeping our new dirt in place!

This pair of wheelbarrows caught my eye while I was watching that final dirt pile get distributed:

And some of the equipment on our yard:

Now for our tour de force. Well, not quite, but Steven and I are proud of it! The landscape crew brought more boulders to the site than they ended up needing, so we talked them into letting us keep them. Over the weekend, we built a third retaining wall (it would be the perfect size for an herb garden!).

And here’s a close-up of the wall (have to show off our superb workmanship, right? Plus, the one boulder has a pretty neat texture!

And now onto the fun events from today. Hydroseeding! The guys came out today to fertilize and get the grass seed down before the rain tonight and tomorrow that’s expected.

…this tank and equipment is pretty cool:

And two more images of the hydroseeding in process. Looks cool, and I’m glad they’re the ones doing it!

So, there you have it. Our landscaping project is now completed, unless there’s something I missed. We’ll be doing a final inspection of things to make sure we got everything done, of course. And in seven long days, we should have a nice yardful of healthy, growing grass!
