Homemade Chili

Well I have to say it has been an exciting week (well, beginning of the year, to be exact). First the Print Exhibition, now the results of the State Print Competition (read about the awards I received)! So, in case you’re wondering how I celebrated — we made chili!

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, it may not sound like an overly exciting thing to do, but Steven and I have been dying to enjoy some homemade chili. Our *secret* recipe has lots of tasty ingredients, and it ends up taking about 4 hours to make (that’s not including the 45 minute stop at the grocery store). We spent an evening this week chopping, dicing, and simmering all the ingredients for a wonderful bowl of chili. And when we were finally able to enjoy a bowl…. the wait was worth it!

We’ll be enjoying chili for the next few days still, but that’s ok. When you don’t get to make something all that often, it’s good to have it a few days in a row!
