Seeing from a “Fine Art” Perspective

If you recall, last week I talked about developing an appreciation for Fine Art. This week I had the pleasure of learning from Michael and Tina Timmons (Gallery 143) again. As before, it was inspiring to see the images that the Timmons have created! Additionally, we viewed a sampling of images created by other photographers — all award-winning images from previous PPA International Competitions (read about my prints that received awards this year!).

While I probably have a more well-developed “fine art” mentality than many photographers, it’s always good to hear things from another perspective — and Michael and Tina’s presentation did just that! I really enjoyed the chance to “get inside” their thought process and understand how other photographers go about creating works of art.

As always, I enjoyed the learning experience and look forward to being able to implement some of the techniques we discussed. Most of all, I enjoyed the creative recharge that the course provided. Even though I’m a creative person naturally, sometimes that extra “boost” is great for helping my creative process grow and develop. Ahh, the joys of learning!
