Bringing Relatives Together
Have you noticed that as you get older, it gets harder to get the whole family together? We start to rely on Holidays like New Years and Thanksgiving to bring everyone together – and even then, there’s bound to be a few relatives that leave early to spend time with their other family members. Well, one of the great things about weddings is that your family will make every effort to be there. Not only because they want to party, but because they want to help you celebrate the beginning of your married life – they want to see you happily married to the love of your life! While you have the whole family in one place, it’s the perfect time for a group picture. Depending on what my brides want, I’ll make sure to leave time for these family groupings – even though you won’t necessarily want all those family formals in your wedding album, your relatives WILL appreciate being able to display a picture from your wedding that has them in it!
So, throughout the planning of your wedding, try to enjoy the extra attention you’ll be receiving from your relatives. They ARE excited for you and probably can’t wait to “officially” welcome your fiancé to the family.
Send out your engagement or wedding announcement to friends and family – the holidays are the perfect excuse to share what’s going on in your life! If you’ve never written a holiday letter before, this may be the perfect year to do so – who knows, it could become tradition. This year my husband and I will send out our first family letter – and yes, we’ll be including a picture. Whether you want a personalized greeting card or a Slimline photo greeting card, why not let us do the honors? We include envelopes, so it’s easy to just address and mail them – and you’ll be able to pick your favorite picture from your wedding or session to share with everyone!
